FAQs
1) How do I book you for a shoot?
Call me at 917.848.4197 during normal business hours (9am-6pm EST) and we will arrange a time for your session. I prefer to shoot weekdays, but a weekend session can be arranged if necessary.
2) What happens when I arrive?
You will be introduced to any members of the glam squad that may have been booked for the shoot. If you have any clothing of your own we will hang it on a rack so it is visible to the glam squad and myself. We will discuss with you how to best prepare your makeup, hair and clothing to compliment the looks we will be shooting.
Once we have mapped out a plan for the shoot, you will begin makeup, and hair prep.
3) What is a “look”?
A look refers to the clothing, lighting and mood of a particular shot. Generally we shoot 3 looks:
Headshot –a head and shoulders portrait. This is the shot you will be giving to casting directors.
Fashion shot – a full length portrait. For this shot use current fashion lighting techniques and I make sure you have a strong fashion pose.
Body shot – a dramatic portrait. This look will show the shape and tone of your body.
Note that you are not required to shoot the specific looks described here. You might choose to eliminate the body shot, for example, and instead concentrate on shooting multiple headshots.
3) What if I don’t know how to pose?
It’s ok if you’ve never shot before, because I have. I’ve shot dozens of new models who didn’t know how to pose and I have plenty of poses in mind for you. I've also shot artists like Keyshia Cole, Rhianna and Chris Brown way back when they didn't know how to pose either.
Chances are though, I’ll start the shoot by having you pose on your own first –even if you feel you don’t know what you’re doing. I like to get a sense of your own posing style before I start suggesting poses for you.
You don’t need any prior experience or knowledge of modeling to have a successful shoot. You need only the drive to do what it takes to make the shoot all it can be.
4) How long will the shoot take?
Generally it takes about 4 hours from the time you walk into the studio until the time you leave.
5) Can I see the images you are shooting?
Certainly. You can preview images on the back of my camera whenever you desire. You can also preview each look on my laptop after it is completed.
6) What happens after the shoot?
You will receive a CD that contains all of the images of you that were shot. You may select 2 images from the shoot to be retouched at no additional cost. Additional images can be retouched at the rate of $20 per image.
